Fortified church of Biertan
Biertan fortified church Biertan, a German settlement from 1224, among the most important Saxon villages with fortified churches, on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is one of the most visited villages in Transylvania (Romania). As any other Transylvanian Saxon Community, it had an urban organization, being noticed the franconic style of the rows of houses around the central square overlooked. These spectacular landscape is beautiful all the day but appear even more magical when bathed in light at foggy sunrise and sunset, evidencing the rolling hills and their slopes, which looks almost like a painting.
